“Pick yourself up, dust yourself off and start all over again”……easier said than done?!
We’ve all heard these words at some time or another, usually from well meaning individuals who want to help us feel better. It is a wonderfully positive approach to life’s negative experiences but as we all know it’s not that easy, particularly when you are experiencing the trauma of divorce or long term relationship break up. Let’s not under estimate the level of trauma involved here, divorce is rated as second only to the death of a spouse in the Hanson Scale of Stress resistance and for anyone who has passed through this experience of separation from a long term partner they will know only too well the devastation and havoc this process brings into our lives.
